MyJO endorses the Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals (ICMJE Recommendations) published by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). We strongly recommend that authors review the ICMJE’s Preparing a Manuscript for Submission to a Medical Journal, as it provides a helpful framework to prepare clear and well-structured articles.
DURING SUBMISSION
MyJO is an online journal. Submissions and communications between the authors and the editorial team are conducted exclusively on the MyJO website. Email notifications sent by the journal often fall into the junk/spam folder, so authors are encouraged to check these folders regularly and add MyJO to their list of trusted contacts. We also strongly encourage to track submissions and contact the publishing team through the Pre-Review, Review, Copyediting, and Production discussion panes. When contacting the MyJO Editorial Team by email, make sure to cite the submission number.
When submitting your manuscript through the journal website, complete/upload the following items:
1. Metadata
- Appropriate section for your manuscript from the drop-down menu
- Abstract
- Keywords
- Supporting agencies
- Reference list
- Full names (not initials) and emails for all authors in the List of Contributors. Submissions that list only one author in the List of Contributors and more than one author in the manuscript will be automatically declined.

4. Completed MyJO Publication Consent Form for case series and case reports.
